ObitEdgar's obituary was published in the Rochester Sentinel on 3 June 1891:
Edgar NYE, the twenty year old son of Mr. & Mrs. Jonas NYE, who live on a farm southeast of Hoover’s Station, took his own life Wednesday afternoon by shooting himself through the head with a revolver. Just after dinner he strolled out into the orchard and the report of his revolver was heard by the family who thought he was shooting at birds. As he did not return in reasonable time one of his sisters went to see what he was doing and found him lying flat on his back and cold in death from a bullet in his brain. Coroner SHIELDS was summoned and his inquisition developed the facts that the young man had had considerbale trouble with neighbors and relatives and that he was much dissatisfied with himself and everybody else and, therefore, tired of earthly existence. The funeral service was conducted by Elder Noah HEETER, Thursday.3

ObitWilliam Kirk's obituary was published in the Wichita Eagle on 7 March 1980:

Businessman W. Enoch,At Age 93 By BILL HIRSCHMAN, Staff Writer
In his long hours on the road as a salesman, William Kirk Enoch was known to brag as much about his children's accomplishments as the value of his wares. Those people out there said he spent more time talking about us than selling," said his son, Donald K. Enoch, a former Wichita mayor. William Enoch died Wednesday at the age of 93 in Terrace Gardens Nursing Home. He had lived there for six years with his wife, Breta. Enoch was known to regale any willing listener about the success of his son, Donald, who alternated with him as president of his Wichita Brush and Chemical Co; another son, Norman, a retired Air Force major, and a third son, David, who sits on Denver's appeals court.
But Enoch was better known in Wichita for almost a half-century of leadership in the Disciples of Christ faith. Enoch was installed in June 1973 as the fifth elder emeritus in the history of the Fairview Christian Church. The honor recognized his 42 years as a congregational leader, including service as deacon, elder, secretary, chairman of the board and co-chairman of the building committee. Building churches was an integral part of his community activities. During his chairmanship of the Joint Board of Christian Churches in Wichita, the organization sparked the construction of several churches or additions to existing ones. He was a past president of the Christian Church Commission and former delegate to the Wichita Council of Churches. Enoch remained active in the church even after retiring from his firm about 10 years ago. "His sole social life was his church," Donald Enoch said. Enoch moved from his home at 2135 N. Riverside Blvd. to the nursing home when his health began to deteriorate, his son said. Besides his wife and sons, Enoch is survived by a sister, Lora Lorene Johnson, of Tulsa. Service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Fairview Christian Church. A memorial has been established with the church. Cochran Mortuary has charge of funeral arrangements.6
