Jess C. Curtis, 65, died Wednesday in the Haywood County Hospital after a long illness. He was a native of Haywood County. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Garrett Funeral Home. The Rev. J.M. Woodard and the Rev. C.L. Allen will officiate and burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lee Grant Clark, Crawford Greasman, Lem Shephard, James Kuykendall, Billy Smith and Julius Hoyle, Jr.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Robert Arrington of Hazelwood, and Mrs. Walter Leming of Andrews; four sons, Frank, William R. and Joseph E. Curtis of Hazelwood, and Bruce V. Curtis of Waynesville; two brothers, Tom Curtis of Murphy, and Nelson of Waynesville RFD 1; three sisters, Mrs. Joe Gaddy and Mrs. Jerry Underwood of Waynesville RFD 1, and Mrs. Ellis Underwood of Waynesville RFD 1 and six grandchildren.10
