Shands Golightly witnessed the sale of land by George Washington Curtis on 18 January 1828 at Madison, Tennessee; sold to his son James Curtis and son-in-law Shands Golightly for $225 the following property: one sorrell mare, foiur head of cattle, 55 barrels of corn in the field, 25 hogs, various kitchen utensils and farm implements. Witnessed by Joseph and John Hopper.³
