Boyd P. Johnson died suddenly Thursday night, December 5, at his home here while sitting in a chair. He was employed by the Berkeley Club Bottling Company and had worked that day. A native of Morgan county, he was born on Aug. 21, 1889, a son of the late Elwood and Emmaline Waugh Johnson.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lula Unger Johnson; four sons-Webster, Silver Spring, Md; Edward, Winchester, Va; Lenue and Roscoe, Berkeley Springs; three daughters-Mrs. John Neace, Ranger; Mrs. Robert Reynolds and Mrs. John Kelley, Berkeley Springs, seven grandchildren; and a brother, Foster Johnson, Berkeley Springs. The body was removed to the Hunter Funeral Home here for services Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Roy Hedrick officiating. Burial was in Greenway Cemetery.1

She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd P. Johnson.
Surviving are two daughters, Ruth Jean Kelley of Berkeley Springs, and Helen Niece of Ranger; one son, Roscoe "Rocky" Johnson of Hagerstown; two sisters, Virginia Dawson and Ruth Unger of Martinsburg; 12 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Services were Sunday, June 26, at 2:00 p.m. from the Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs, with the Rev. Henry Fisher officiating. Burial was in the Greenway Cemetery.1

He was Protestant; a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army; a lifetime member of the Berkeley Springs Volunteer Fire Department and the Alderton Dawson American Legion Post 60. He was a member of the Great Cacapon Volunteer Fire Department and the Risinger Stotler VFW Post 4019. He was employed by Newbraugh's Supply for the past 35 years.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Gloria Jean Cooper, Berkeley Springs, and Vicki Lynn Waugh, Alexandria, Va; a son, Kenneth W. Johnson, Berkeley Springs; two sisters, Ruth Jean Kelly, Berkeley Springs; and Helen Niece, Ranger; a brother, Roscoe Johnson, Hagerstown; and four grandchildren. Services are being held today, Wednesday, June 19, 2 p.m. at the Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Smith officiating. Burial in the Greenway Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by local VFW and American Legion Posts.3

Bernard L. Waugh, 71, of Berkeley Springs, died Saturday, February 15, 1992 at the Morgan County War Memorial Hospital, Berkeley Springs. Born January 30, 1921, in Morgan County, he was the son of the late Arch Waugh and Bessie Culp Waugh Mellott. He was retired bellman for the Sheraton-Carlton Hotel, Washington, D.C. He was a Protestant by faith. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 60; Veteran of Foreign Wars, 4019; and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge, 1483, Berkeley Springs.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret (Bruback) Waugh; three step-sisters, Nancy Mellott of Rhineback, N.Y., Mary Deadmon of Largo, Fla., and Patricia Harwood of Landover Hills, Md; one stepbrother, Paul Mellott of Hancock, Md; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 19, at the Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs, with the Rev. Gerald Grace officiating. Interment will be in the Greenway Cemetery with military graveside rites by the local American Legion and the VFW Post.1

Death*Paul R. Mellott died on 10 December 1976 at Berkeley Springs, Morgan, West Virginia, at age 71; at the Martinsburg Hospital; buried at Greenway Cemetery.1

Paul R. (Tubby) Mellott, of Berkeley Springs, died Friday, December 10 in the City Hospital in Martinsburg. Born in Morgan County March 12, 1905, he was the son of Charles A. and Clara Lutman Mellott. During World War II he served as a pharmacist's mate with the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Alderton-Dawson Post No. 60, American Legion, for 26 years, and had served as post adjutant 1974-75. He was a member of the Catholic Church.
His first wife, the former Alice Hovermill, died in 1963. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bessie L. Culp Waugh Thompson Mellott, at the home. Other survivors are one son, Paul R., of Bowie, Md; one step-son, Bernard Waugh, Washington, D.C; three daughters, Miss Nancy Jean Mellott, Rhinebeck, N.Y; Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Deadmon, Hyattsville, Md., and Mrs. Patricia Louise Harwood, Landover, Md; seven grandchildren; one brother, Charles Albert Mellott, Fairfax, Va. Arrangements were made by the Johnson Funeral Home in Berkeley Springs, where services were conducted Monday, December 13 by Father P.H. Stragisher, with burial in Greenway Cemetery with full military graveside rites. Memorial contributions may be made to the Morgan County Rescue Service.1
