Laura Madeline Pentoney, 92, of Falling Waters, W.Va., died Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at the Fahrney-Keedy Home in Boonsboro, Md.

Born July 5, 1912 in Hedgesville, she was the daughter of the late Otterbein Win and Effie Lee DeHaven Stuckey.

She was a member of Bedington United Methodist Church and a member of the Wesley-Sunshine Class.

She is survived by one daughter, Gay Greenfield of Martinsburg; one son, Jerry E. Pentoney of Bowie, Md; four grandchildren, Sonya Tucker, Serena Lehman, Jerry Jay Pentoney and Heather Greenfield; four great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, one brother, Lyle Stuckey of Hedgesville and one sister, Geraldine Hill of Spring Mills.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Pentoney; five brothers, Vance Evon, Dalton, Morris Lee and Loyl D. Stuckey and a sister, Bernice Lea Norris.
Funeral services were Saturday, November 13 at the Bedington United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert W. Barnes and Rev. Walter F. Bowers officiating. Interment was in Sphors Cross Roads Cemetery, Berkeley Springs. Brown Funeral Home, 327 West King Street, Martinsburg, handled the arrangements.1

Yost Fleece of Berkeley Springs; seven daughters, Brenda Barney, Pam Kave, Diane Swink, Chris Harvey, Patty Walker, Mary Sherrard and Daisha Fleece, all of Berkeley Springs; three sons, Robert “Bob” Fleece, Jr., James L. “Jim” Fleece and Rodney Fleece, all of Berkeley Springs; four sisters, Ruth A. Courtney of Marion, S.C., Shelby Byram of Great Cacapon, Margaret Snyder of Winchester, Va. and Susie Ridgeway of Berkeley Springs; one brother, James “Rich” Fleece of Berkeley Springs; 13 grandchildren, two great grandchildren; three step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five brothers, George “Joe” Fleece, Charles “Stoney” Fleece, Freddie Fleece, Willard “Pete” Fleece, Carl “Bill” Fleece and one grandson, Rodney Allen Fleece. Services were Monday, March 7 at Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home, 36 South Green Street, Berkeley Springs with Pastor James Brady officiating. Burial at Bethel Cemetery.2
